From zero to 4000 lockers on the ground in just 2 years

The Partnership

Vinted Go, the logistics arm of secondhand fashion platform Vinted, partnered with Bloq.it to tackle the complex challenges of last-mile delivery. As the exclusive smart locker provider for Vinted Go, Bloq.it has played a pivotal role in building a seamless, sustainable delivery experience for over 100 millions users.

Originally launched to improve convenience and reduce the environmental impact of deliveries, Vinted Go’s network has grown rapidly since 2022. This fast-paced growth presented new challenges, including how to scale quickly while overcoming location constraints.

Teams on both sides came together to create a solution that would fit Vinted Go needs, while also evolving Bloq.it’s offer. The partnership proved incredibly successful with the contract signed in April and the first Lockers deployed just after two months.

The Challenge

Vinted recognised the need for a strong technology-focused solution and an adaptable partner to ensure the creation of an end-to-end solution. This required developing, producing, and launching Vinted's smart locker network starting in France in record time, and set the foundation for expanding to other markets, navigating also the complexities of operations across borders.

The team started by understanding Vinted Go's requirements for an effective smart locker network.

The End-to-End Solution

The result was a brand new product, the V-Locker, which evolved to what now is Bloq.it’s NEXT Compact. Shaped around Vinted’s specific needs for agility, scale, and secure operations at volume, the NEXT Compact, was built end-to-end by Bloq.it, hardware and software alike, and it remains an essential part of the Vinted Go network to this day.

Bloq.it takes full ownership of the locker installation process, strategically selecting and preparing sites identified by Vinted Go. This ensures every locker integrates seamlessly into its environment, maximizing accessibility for users and transport partners. Our local dedicated teams manage every step, from initial site evaluation to final setup, ensuring a smooth and efficient rollout.

Looking Ahead

Roughly one year after the launch, close to 2M parcels had already been shipped via a Vinted smart locker. The highly successful launch allowed Vinted to achieve strong unit economics and continue to scale across Europe. Today, Vinted’s network registers over 100M parcel transactions in 5 different countries: France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and the Netherlands with smart lockers extending up to 15 columns. By combining meticulous deployment planning with expert maintenance, Bloq.it ensures the Vinted Go locker network delivers unmatched efficiency for customers and transport companies alike.
