Vinted was founded in 2008 in Lithuania and in 2019 became the country’s first Unicorn. Vinted, the leading C2C second-hand fashion marketplace in Europe, launched Vinted Go in 2022 with a focus on developing products and solutions for more seamless shipping and delivery across Europe.

Vinted Go has connected more than 40 carriers and more than 200,000 PUDO points across Europe to support the delivery of millions of parcels per year.

Launching Vinted Go

When Vinted Go was launched in 2022 they immediately looked for a partner who would help them achieve their goals, and that's where Bloq.it came in.

Both teams worked together since the beginning to create a solution that would fit Vinted Go needs, while also allowing Bloq.it to improve our existing offers. In the end, this partnership proved incredibly successful as the contract was signed in April and the first Lockers were deployed just after two months.

Challenge

Vinted recognised the need for a strong technology-focused solution and an adaptable company to ensure the creation of an end-to-end solution. Responding to this need, we entered the scene and set out to address Europe's largest C2O marketplace's first and last-mile challenges, to their 80 million users across Europe.

This required developing, producing, and launching Vinted's Smart Locker network in France in record time, achieving the feat of performing the fastest launch of a large-scale Smart Locker network ever.

We started by understanding Vinted Go's requirements for an effective Smart Locker network. In the end, this is what they needed:

• Easy to fit, non-intrusive
• Easy to operate
• Facilitate drop-offs
• Integrated with Vinted marketplace infrastructure
• Look good!

Once we understood the needs, our team started working on the best solutions and, in the end, were able to deliver an even better outcome than first expected.

Solution

The result was a brand new product — the V-Locker — which is an essential part of the Vinted Go network. The V-Locker was exclusively developed by Bloq.it and encompasses both hardware and software layers that meet their requirements for agility, commodity and safety. This Smart Locker stands out in the market, tailored precisely for Vinted users and operational needs.

Roughly one year after the launch, close to 2M parcels had already been shipped via the V-Locker. The highly successful service launch allowed Vinted to achieve strong unit economics and to expand their network in France.

Since then, we've developed several version of the V-Locker according to Vinted Go needs. We are now working with record support time, where we have SLAs as quick as 1 hour for first response.

Two years after the launch, we hit +100 deployed lockers in a week, totalling more than 500 in June 2024 alone. Now we're already deploying the first Bloq.it NEXT Lockers for Vinted Go in Paris and we're on track to hit the 4000 Smart Lockers running Bloq.it OS with Vinted Go, who is one of the fastest Delivery companies in Europe ever.
